A little History

The amplifier shown was our first foray into tubes after a 'solid state gap" of about 30 years! It was built in 2001 and was based on  an original Beacon Transformer and GEC KT66's that were NOS and 50 years young. They tested like new and were very close to being matched pairs.  The amps worked so well that it  convinced us to  move on to others. Since then, preamps, power supplies and  several other power amps have been built tested and data recorded.

We continue to evolve and develop.

    Renascent  Electronics:

Renascent electronics was formed primarily in response to the wide interest in Electron-Tube Technology or Valves, together with Audio and Vinyl recording technologies.  However it is not limited to  them.  This site aims to cover as many aspects of the art and science of audio and studio sound, as well as the instrumentation used to support it, analogue design and prototype production and the occasional project.  Hopefully the site will become a link to other like minded engineers and audio activists who offer services.  See LINKS page.

The key elements are Design, Prototyping, Refurbishment, Repairs and Testing. Analogue audio will feature strongly, however it is anticipated that refurbishment and repair in particular will cover non-audio equipment and, Design and Prototyping of a variety of items will also be covered.

Current work involves the repair of two scopes - one HP 1740 and a couple of 5000 series GP Tecs. There is also a Nuvistor Pre amp a line amplifier and a 75 Watt tubed stereo  pair (mono-blocks) being developed.  Along with this are several commercial  repairs!

Watch this space - more to follow soon!
